Benjamin Grey was a detective hired secretly by Security Chief Sullivan to crack down on the recent rise in Rapture's crime rate. His presence in Rapture was kept on a need-to-know basis, so not even Andrew Ryan knew he was working for him. He was seriously injuried by a bulletwound from Elijah Shayd and the steakout was cancelled and he was sent to the hospital. He forgot who Elijah Shayd was and woke up three weeks after the New Years Eve Riots in the Medical Pavilion, the door blocked to keep Splicers out.
